An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Legal Manager to work closely with the academic and commercialisation divisions within SRUC to develop a new approach to contractual activities in the delivery of SRUC activity in research and development, innovation and exploitation activities. We are seeking a specialist in contractual law to assume significant responsibility for defining requirements and monitoring all areas of work to ensure compliance with standards and new working practices. The post holder will have strong legal drafting skills, and a well-developed understanding of how risk management principles relate to research and related commercial contracting, material transfer agreements and collaboration agreements whilst demonstrating your track record of developing pragmatic, collaborative and innovative solutions to contractual challenges. You will have a high level of self-organisation and be able to operate confidently at all levels, demonstrating your interpersonal and communication skills. Experience understanding issues relating to contract law and intellectual property is essential The successful candidate will have significant experience within a contracts working environment, preferably with experience of research contracts and collaboration preparation and administration in an academic or research and development environment. Practical experience and proven success in legal and commercial matters within a research and development environment gained whilst working at a senior level is essential.
