Overview
This a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join a long established and highly successful company with enviable staff retention. Theres a salary of up to GBP25,000 and benefits including 25 days holidays plus bank holidays, free parking, and a pension scheme with life assurance along with a lunch time finish on a Friday. About The Role: Reporting to the senior buyer, you will carrying out a varied purchasing role, dealing with the procurement of materials and services in line with technical, production and commercial requirements. Duties will include: Planning deliveries to optimise production output and pricing discounts Involvement in the negotiation of contracts with key suppliers Obtaining alternative quotes to optimise quality, price, payment terms and delivery Preparing, approving and issuing purchase orders Liaising with suppliers to resolve quality and delivery problems Maintaining procurement files and records Ensuring supplier compliance Support and building vendor relationships Selecting the most appropriate goods and service based on specification, price, quality, delivery times and services support Essential Skills & Experience: Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar buyer or purchaser role. Experience in engineering, oil, gas or other similar sector would be interesting but is not essential. You will be comfortable using Word, Excel, Access and email.
