We have exciting and challenging opportunities for Registered Nurses to develop their skills within the Respiratory Unit at Doncaster Royal Infirmary as part of the Staff Bank. You will be joining an award-winning team, in a Unit that benefits from ward sister cover 24 hours a day to ensure you, as a registered nurse, will feel supported. You will be supported with an induction program and a ward based educational team to develop and support you in your new role. As a Staff Nurse working on the ward you will be: A valued member of the team Providing high quality care to patients, in a professional, compassionate and competent manner Able to contribute ideas and support clinical initiatives in order to provide evidence-based patient care Actively committed to looking at ways to improve patient experience Provide support to the Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP’s) Delivering the medical management plans as devised by the ACP team and medical team Managing blood transfusions, ascetic drains, Intra venous antibiotics therapy, wound dressing. Assisting with patient flow, ordering and chasing take home medications and monitoring patient waiting times. The Nightingale Suite which offers patients and relatives the opportunity to be cared for in an environment conducive to support care for end of life, has been developed by the team. Additionally, the unit has created a respiratory acute bay; this will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills further when nursing acute respiratory patients. The acute bay provides enhanced care for patients requiring intensive input, for example non-invasive ventilated patients. Excellent transport links and 'Park and Ride’ system, mean the site is commutable from numerous locations including Leeds, Huddersfield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield and York. Skills/Responsibilities: To apply for this post, you will: Have a minimum of 6 months paid experience at Band 5 level within a hospital environment in the last 2 years.
