Support Worker Location: TouchBase Glasgow Adult Day Service. Salary: £9.00 per hour. Contract : Relief contract to work as and when required. We are looking to recruit individuals who are enthusiastic, reliable, adaptable, to work on a relief basis within our TouchBase Glasgow service. You will be able to commit to 3 to 4 shifts per month and provide your availability on a monthly basis to the service. Attending TouchBase might be the only social interaction, or chance to go out within the community for some of the people we support, and we need to make sure they have a day to remember. Say hello to the team We currently have exciting Support Worker vacancies at our TouchBase Glasgow Adult Day Service in Kinning Park. Our service is open 7 days a week between 8am and 8pm and we are looking for staff to work flexibly on our rota. We are passionate about developing the people we support’s outcomes and achievements in life. The individual you will support may have limited communication, therefore we would require you to work hard to develop and understand how each person communicates. At times people may communicate in ways which can be challenging, you will receive full training in challenging behaviour. Each individual has their own interests and hobbies. We would require you to support individuals in their chosen activities and help them to develop new activities and relationships where possible. Each individual has their own activity planner which can include activities in TouchBase or accessing the community. Supporting with personal care and administration of medication is required. This role could be for you if: • You have a great work ethic and can work using your own initiative • You are enthusiastic about helping people we support achieve their goals in life • You have excellent communication skills • You are professional and can deal with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner • You are patient and understanding • You are eager to learn and develop your skills in any training provided • You have a good knowledge of services Sense Scotland provide • Driver (Desirable) Closing date for application is Sunday 29th March 2020.
