DevOps Engineer / Cloud Engineer – OCI, AWS, Azure, Linux - Central London A globally recognised, professional and managed service consultancy now require a variety of talented Infrastructure Cloud Engineers based in Central London. JOB DUTIES: ·Act in an adviser role with prospects and customers to understand their cloud infrastructure needs and requirements. ·Develop, advise on cloud-based solutions focused around Application and Database management. ·Participates in Proof of Concepts (POC) and Proof of Value (POV) efforts as well engaging in beta programs and the adoption of new technologies. ·Prepare technical design documentation with Visio/Gliffy/UML. ·Performs performance tuning, upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configures CPU, memory, and storage as required. ·Effectively prioritise and maintain project support requests and communicate status/progress. ·Reviews and accepts all architectural hand-offs to ensure operational accuracy and standards. ·Installs / rebuilds servers on Linux and Windows operating systems. BUSINESS & TECHNICAL SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS: ·Detailed knowledge and understanding of Application and Database implementation and migration methodologies. ·Working knowledge of fundamental operations of Linux and/or Windows operating systems. ·Capable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual and with a team. ·Experience with setup and deployment of private and public cloud landscapes, customer use cases, and operational understanding of one or more of OCI IaaS/PaaS, Amazon EC2, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and others. (certifications preferred) ·Experience with architecting and deploying disaster recovery solutions. ·Understanding of virtualization (Oracle VM preferred, Xen, VMware, Hyper-V). ·Excellent communication skills (written, presentation and verbal). ·Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. ·Experience with operating systems (i.e. Linux & Windows), networking (DNS, routing, firewalls, tracing and debugging), and security and authorization (SSH, OAUTH, SOAP, and REST). ·Experience with the professional services and consulting industries. ·Good technical documentation skills. ·Self-starter and strong work ethic for doing what it takes to complete or resolve requests with integrity and an appropriate sense of urgency.
