Overview

The employer is currently keen to discuss the post with interested and suitably qualified/experienced Electrical Engineers and currently able to appoint on a work from home basis With this position we are looking for an Electrical Engineer who has a thorough understanding of building services design and a passion for seeing jobs through to completion from the initial survey work to checking the final results. We are recruiting for a consultancy who have embedded themselves with numerous retailers and commercial development led clients who carry out a substantial number of schemes that include nationwide, rolling survey and building upgrade programmes. With this post you will be working across all commissions producing schemes, conducting surveys, creating the scope of work and managing works on site. The work you will be looking at will range from electrical upgrades, building extensions and switching over LED lighting systems to name but a few. You will need to be happy working away from home during the week occasionally and ideally have experience of carrying out this type of work on live buildings - if you enjoy scheduling you could say this is your natural environment. It is essential that you have sufficient services knowledge to be able to identify not just the equipment in place, but also the systems that it is linked to and the implication of any changes when dealing with existing buildings. Similarly, you mustn't be frightened by being given a clean sheet and free reign Naturally, you will be supplied with a company car and have full back up from the office team as well as a well rounded package. If you enjoy this type of work and feel unsupported at present, or if you are looking to escape the office and get out on site more, this is the perfect opportunity for you while still being in a design led role. This post is all the more interesting in that while the base office is in Leeds, they are open to talking to people who live within a distance that would allow coming in to the office 2-3 days a week and working from home for the remainder of the week after an initial settling in period.
