Making Sellafield safer, sooner Sellafield Ltd has a number of opportunities for safety specialists, we are looking for candidates who have experience in a number of specialisms including; Conventional safety, Chemical Safety, Radiological Protection and Construction. Safety specialists at Sellafield provide professional Health & Safety advice and support to Programmes, Projects and Operating Units across the business enabling the accelerated delivery of the Sellafield mission. The vacancies are based on our site in West Cumbria, which covers 6 square kilometres and is home to more than 200 nuclear facilities and the largest inventory of untreated nuclear waste in the world. Skills we are looking for Essentials Degree in a Safety or STEM subject or equivalent and relevant or related experience. Chartered member of an appropriate professional body (e.g. IOSH). Practical experience of advising or enforcing conventional safety legislation within large or high hazard organisations. Drive, enthusiasm and self-motivation in the delivery of improvements Good communication and influencing skills with internal stakeholders Customer focussed Ability to manage external stakeholders and regulators (e.g. ONR & HID) Ability to prioritise and plan work. Desirables Experience of advising a range of design, construction, operation, and decommissioning hazards, although specialisms also considered. Demonstrable record of influencing change and improving safety performance of an organisation. Experience of Health and Safety guidance in a regulatory capacity.
