Our commitment to R&D is central to our business success and we are seeking to recruit a Process Research Chemist to join our R&D Team in the Strategic Projects Group based at our Wilton Centre offices in the North East of England. The talented, multidisciplinary team at Wilton is a key part of a global Lucite/MCC human resources network, responsible for profitable growth of our business worldwide. About the role: As a Process Research Chemist , you will use your high-level chemistry research skills to conceive and execute process chemistry research projects in support of existing processes, as well as new and innovative process developments. Lucite is committed to lowering operating cost and carbon footprint of existing processes, as well as developing new processes, and this commitment is dependent on high-quality chemistry input. You will initiate and execute development programmes using novel synthetic organic, metallo-organic and homogeneous/heterogeneous catalyst chemistry, in an industrial research laboratory and pilot plant setting. This entails execution of work in laboratory and pilot plant, analysis and interpretation of data, documentation and presentation of learning and knowledge gained. The role requires working cross functionally with internal and external teams (chemists and process engineers), and collaboration with suppliers, universities and colleagues in MCC, as well as day to day supervision of university placement students at Lucite. The ability to successfully communicate with people across a diverse range of disciplines, locations and cultures is therefore essential for the role. About you: To be successful in this role you will: · have a chemistry degree and PhD, with specialism in organic, organometallic and inorganic synthesis.
