Farm Engineer

Farm Engineer My client are looking to recruit a Farm Engineer on a permanent basis. Due to a rural site location, your own vehicle transport will be required. Job Summary/Purpose: Responsible for providing repairs and services to farm vehicles and equipment to ensure they are safe to use at all times. Provide engineering support to other teams where necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: Promote and support a safe working environment and foster a culture of 'safety first' Ensure that all H&S policies are adhered to. Maintain, Repair and Service all farm equipment. To service tractors wherever possible unless a dealer servicing package is in place. To set up and keep up to date a service schedule for farm tractors. To repair any break downs or minor damage within the farm tractor fleet that is practicable in house. To contact dealers where necessary for repair work that is outside of in house capability. To ensure through the use of service schedules and regular maintenance that all farm equipment is safe to use and road worthy. To repair farm vans, pickups and cars where possible or contact external garages for their timely repair. To liaise with Farm Director, Farm Manager, Farm Operations Managers where necessary to make decisions on the best course of action for maintenance and repair of all farm equipment. To prioritise repair work where necessary to ensure down time is kept to a minimum on time sensitive activities such as spraying and harvesting operations. To assist in the maintenance of any other equipment as is necessary from time to time at the request of the Farm Director or Farm Manager. From time to time to assist the wider engineering team around the site. To work in a safe manor and to keep the safety of yourself and all other staff members as your highest priority.
