As their Java Developer, they don't care about your background so coming from outside of finance is fine, they'll teach you everything you need to know - what you absolutely have to have is a demonstrable interest in technology, precision and technical excellence. There are no heroes in the team, everyone works on everything so there are no points of failure and no one gets bored working on the same thing for months on end. The Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing and testing new and existing features on a low latency trading system. The role will include working with complex technical data tools and require the right individual to have a strong command of core java and a good appreciation of latency sensitive systems. To be considered for the Java Developer role you will need: Strong knowledge of Core Java development, ideally in a low latency / real-time environment Strong appreciation for all things TDD This is a mission-critical system, so the company operate a stringent agile / test driven development approach to ensure that the code is fluid and bug-free. The right Java Developer will have a strong appreciation of Linux, common design patterns and be a practitioner of TDD.
