Commercial Manager Salary 41,739 - £49,023 Location – (Y ou can be based at any one of these forces) B edfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Kent. The Seven Force Strategic Collaboration Programme was established 2015 and is working across the Eastern Region (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Kent Police Forces) to develop and implement successful collaborative solutions to protect the front-line local delivery of policing. The Programme covers a geographic area of more than 9,000 square miles, serving nearly 8 million residents. This makes it one of the most ambitious police partnership programmes ever undertaken. The Seven Force Procurement Team is a new shared procurement service supporting these 7 police forces. This collaboration is responsible for third party spend of approximately £230m per annum, making the Collaboration the second largest police procurement collective after the Metropolitan Police, using its buying power to secure wider social, economic and environmental benefits. To enable the delivery of effective and efficient police services and provide support for victims in the eastern region by procuring and managing high quality, value for money contracts;number of fantastic opportunities have arisen for outstanding procurement professionals. Reporting into the Head of Commercial Delivery, the Commercial Manager will lead where appropriate on all complex and commercial negotiations and disputes with the most strategic suppliers across the 7 Forces assigned to them, providing expert commercial and legal advice to the OPCC’s and Chief Officer teams across the 7 Forces to enable them to deliver their Policing Plans . In this varied role, your responsibilities will include : Leading and/or supporting complex commercial negotiations with key suppliers, Producing and communicating relevant management information showing performance against commercial targets Actively monitoring the comprehensive commercial risk register on the key strategic suppliers across the 7 Forces Ensuring that income generation opportunities (including sponsorship and Police Service Agreement arrangements) are leveraged where appropriate Contribute to the strategic and business planning processes for the 7 Forces by providing expert commercial advice and professional input across the end to end procurement life-cycle The successful candidate must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to confidently liaise with staff/officers and stakeholders at all levels. You will have strong analytical skills and commercial acumen, the confidence to explore and develop new commercial models, robust time and project management skills and a proven track record working in a category management capacity.
