Overview
Top performing West London authority are recruiting for a Council Tax Inspector to work in the Revenues Department. You will be required to carry out property inspections within the council, to gather information and intelligence relating to the council tax valuations, disabled reductions, unoccupied properties, building work and rates avoidance. Key areas of responsibility include: To implement the councils vision and priorities To monitor empty properties for occupation, new build developments and material change To identify and monitor rate avoidance properties, making clear and concise notes and provide photographic evidence To be proactive in identifying properties mussing from the commercial and residential list To monitor new developments and demolitions to ensure that information regarding the status of sites is supplied To raise notifications to the valuation office To update the Council Tax database To offer guidance on business rates and council tax reductions and relief schemes Qualifications and experience required: Good working knowledge of council tax and business rates Ability to work independently and flexibly Good IT skills Experience of working directly with business owners, residents and all interested partnerships Skills and abilities: An understanding of equal opportunities in service delivery and a commitment to implement equal opportunities in relation to the job responsibilities Demonstrate an ability to communicate fluently with our business owners residents, partners and other stakeholders Flexibility and ability to plan and prioritise workload without close supervision Ability to drive forward our continual improvements within the revenues service Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
