Looking for a job opportunity within prison healthcare? If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding Healthcare Assistant role and want to develop your clinical care package skills in an environment where no two days are the same then this could be the new job for you To contribute and support delivery of primary care within a secure environment, by providing nursing care, implement clinical care packages, while working unsupervised. This is a full time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week across 7 days a week on rotational basis including weekends and Bank holidays. Want to know more about HMP Wayland HMP Wayland is a Category C male training prison, located near the village of Griston in Norfolk. The site is built up of 13 residential units and has a full healthcare unit. HMP Wayland is 24 miles from the main city of Norwich and 15 miles from Thetford. About the job As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients’ care. You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfill their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on wellbeing promotion clinics. What do you need? We are on the lookout for Healthcare Assistants who have experience of working within a Primary Care setting including GP surgeries, hospitals and have proven experience in clinical observations, ideally ECG and Phlebotomy. You’ll hold a minimum of NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification and must have a willingness to undertake training in Mental Health Awareness, suicide prevention, self-harm and ACCT procedures as well as Health Promotion and screening, as well as NVQ 3 Health and Social care. Salary and benefits The salary for this role is up to £19,500 per annum - dependent on experience.
