Overview
Solutions Architect, Oxford, £70k to £100k depending on experience Avanti Recruitment is currently working with an incredible company in Oxford who are battling cardiovascular disease through their awesome AI technology. They have developed a technology that aims to reduce diagnostic errors by a huge proportion of 75%. They are extremely well funded and have an impressive infrastructure and working environment. They have an immediate requirement for a Solutions Architect with strong skills in Cloud technology like Azure and AWS. The Solutions Architect will take on the responsibility for the overall design of the various services in use and lead on buy versus build decisions that affect clinical operations. Security is a primary factor and needs to be built into every application they deploy, as well as managing data. Responsibilities; Manage the existing repository of architectural documentation, ensuring that it is well disseminated within the teams Work with the product development team to understand medium and long-term customer requirements and align the work within operations to appropriate strategy Address the differing data management system needs within the business including commercial customer data and research data associated with clinical trials Develop assets (documentation, presentations and other artefacts) which are readily usable in a customer context to explain the functionality, capability, performance and security of our architecture Essential Requirements; Cloud software architecture, basic knowledge of main providers (Azure, AWS) Strong IP network skills (demonstrable understanding of routing, IPSEC/encapsulated networking, software-defined networks) Excellent written, verbal and graphic/diagramming skills Strong appreciation of information security requirements and different approaches used to assure privacy Desirable qualities; Structured approach to software architecture (e.g. C4) Experience in the healthcare sector in general Exposure to integration challenges in large enterprises Experience of designing event-driven message passing systems Demonstrable examples of mapping tactical technology decisions to longer-term strategic aims Technical appreciation/understanding of RESTful APIs and non-relational data storage Experience of formal information security management systems (ISO 27001) Experience of typical integration applications and associating scripting languages This is a hands on technical role so the successful candidate needs to be happy with the technical nitty gritty, as well as a key decision maker and senior technologist within operations.
