Staff benefits include: up to 12% employer pension contribution; PMI through BUPA; subsidised canteen; free parking Overview The Head of Awarding is responsible and accountable for developing, enhancing and managing the performance, governance, standards and independence of the CIPS Awarding Body. In this post you will ensure quality, consistency and fair policies, with full and continuous legislative and regulatory compliance globally. You will provide expert guidance and advice to all stakeholders across the CIPS Group on matters relating to educational regulation. As a member of the Professional Development Leadership Team, the Head of Awarding contributes to the ongoing formulation and implementation of professional development business strategy, processes and policies. This post has 3 direct reports (Senior Awarding Manager; Awarding Manager - Regulation; Demand Planning Manager), and 14 indirect reports. The role will also be responsible for operational management and leadership, engaging with and empowering the CIPS Awarding Body team and various suppliers to deliver. The level of change in this team and operation is significant: the continued implementation of on-line assessment software (new in 2019) and the movement of more assessments on-line - both alongside a busy and demanding BAU operation. Applicants must therefore possess: Awarding body experience (or understanding of working in a regulated environment) Strong evidenced leadership skills - management and motivation of a large and diverse team Experience of leading a team through significant change Experience of managing large programmes/projects to achieve outcomes Experience of developing and implementing new process workflows An affinity with IT, and experience in working with IT suppliers Good ability with complex problem-solving Excellent communication skills A real grasp and understanding of the 'customer first' concept Resilience Experience and ability in proactive, regular reporting The type of personality which thrives in a post where you will enjoy lots of autonomy and are empowered to make your own decisions.
