The Good Energy team is currently around 300 people strong and is based in the market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire. About the role The role will be responsible for delivering development and technical capabilities within the development team. As well as delivering great code it will drive continuous improvement and embed industry best practices, whilst contributing towards team performance, professional development and our collaborative working practises. You'll support the Technical Architect and Lead Developers to enable ever-improving development velocity and quality within the Scrum teams. Contributing towards all aspects of the SCRUM ceremonies within the team, you will support the Technical Architect and Lead Developers with regards to the direction and implementation of developer tooling and practices roadmap (including, but not limited to CI/CD, test driven development, choice of development stacks). Depending on your level of experience y ou'll work within your team to ensure individual developers' skills are working effectively and help to identify emerging skill needs for developers, continuously ensuring high performance of the team. In addition, you'll work with the Technical Architect and Lead Developers to seek opportunities to introduce compelling new technologies that will enhance functional capability, improve technical delivery and support implementation. About you You'll be a proactive individual and interested in contributing within a high performing agile development team. With an infectious motivation and passion for development, you'll be comfortable balancing your own deliverables as well as supporting the efforts of others within the team. Good understanding of Agile principles and implementations, you'll possess a desire to continuously seek out improvements sourced from your own experience, taking on suggestions from the developers or good practice from the broader software development industry. You’ll have experience of modern JS frameworks for building SPAs, e.g. ReactJS as well as related techniques and technologies such as CSS, unit testing, state management etc. You'll be an advocate to the Agile manifesto – following SCRUM or other Agile techniques and experience of C# .net/.net core for middle and backend development with delivery of services, eg REST. In addition. You'll also possess great interpersonal skills to support our professional development, positive approach and culture of inclusivity.
