The Good Energy team is currently around 300 people strong and is based in the market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire. About the role The role will be responsible for delivering development capability, providing technical capability within the development team. It will drive continuous improvement and embed industry best practices, whilst contributing towards team performance, professional development and our collaborative working practises. A key part of the role will be to develop software to deliver the business requirements. Following industry standards and Good Energy quality practises and implementation of appropriate unit tests. You'll support the Lead Developer with regards to the development practice to enable ever-improving development velocity and quality within the Scrum teams. Contributing towards all aspects of the SCRUM ceremonies within the team, you will support the Lead Developer with regards to the direction and implentation of developer tooling and paractices roadmap (including, but not limited to CI/CD, test driven development, choice of development stacks). You'll work closely with the team to ensure individual developers' skills are working effectively and identify emerging skill needs for developers, continuously ensuring high performance of the team. In addition, you'll work with the Lead Developer to seek opportunities to introduce compelling new technologies that will enhance functional capability, improve technical delivery and support implementation. About you You'll be a proactive individual with great technical experience and interest in contributing within a high performing agile development team. You'll be comfortable balancing your own deliverables as well as supporting the efforts of others within the team. Good understanding of Agile principles and implementations, you'll possess a desire to continuously seek out improvements sourced from your own experience with taking on suggestions from the developers or good practice from the broader software development industry. You'll have an enthusiasm for growing a progressive, diverse and inclusive developer community within Good Energy. With demonstrable experience of delivering high quality code across a full stack in a fast paced agile environment, you'll be confident around modern JS frameworks for building SPAs, e.g. ReactJS as well as related techniques and technologies such as CSS, unit testing, state management etc. You'll be comfortable using SCRUM or other Agile Technologies and experience of C# .net/.net core for middle and backend development with delivery of services, eg REST. In addition, you'll possess good interpersonal skills to support our professional development, positive approach and culture of inclusivity.
