Overview
Accounts Assistant Based in Watford, Hertfordshire, our client is a reputable company looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. This job would suit a candidate who has previously worked within a finance department who will be assisting with the reconciliation and preparation of invoices for the company. The job will also involve communicating with internal and external departments and assisting, when necessary, with other departments within finance and administration. This company is a well-established and leading specialist within their field. It is a fast-growing business with consistent year on year growth, and an ongoing growth planner. The successful individual will likely have at least 2 years previous bookkeeping or all-round accounts experience with good knowledge of Sage50 Payroll and accounting software. The candidate should have strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to achieve targets whilst maintaining accuracy. This is suited for an individual with analytical and problem-solving skills as well as good level competence in Excel with the ability to proactively work independently and in a team. Duties will include: Responsibility for maintaining sales and purchase ledgers using accounting software. Setting up payments via online banking for authorisation. Checking company bank statements and reconciling. Preparing and processing payroll using Sage Payroll. Processing VAT returns. Dealing with and maintaining general financial paperwork and filing. Credit control - chasing due payments and helping to resolve accounts queries. Ordering stationery and general office supplies as required. Answering telephones and liaising with customers and suppliers. Other general administrative activities.
