Salary: £32,000 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours Job Type: Maternity cover until Sept 2020 Service: Mental Health Location: Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday with occasional evening work being required Benefits · A stimulating work environment full of opportunities to learn and develop · 25 days annual leave, pension scheme and 24-hour Employee Assistance · Paid Enhanced DBS · Eye care vouchers · Travel season ticket loan · Cycle to work Scheme About the role The role of a Peer Support Manager is to support and line manage a team of peer supporters (people with lived experience of mental health support needs, families and carers and team leaders) to co-deliver crisis services across Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham; and develop the expansion of the current service. You will support the recruitment, induction and training of peer supporters, and help promote a culture of independence, resilience and community involvement through the core values of peer support. You will actively seek ways to identify and establish supportive connections with community-based opportunities and services for the people we support. You will provide the operational support to the team and the people who use our service. This will include procedures and records in the areas of operations, finance and human resources. The project will bring in best practice locally and nationally, and support people and teams within Certitude, the Lambeth Living Well Network and partners across all three boroughs, in using and promoting Solidarity in a Crisis as a valuable resource that helps minimise crisis, promotes engagement and prevents relapse. Duties will include: You will provide line management and supervision to seasonal peer supporters and team leaders working across 3 different settings (out of hours crisis line, Community Peer Support and Crisis café) to provide crisis support; and promote continuous development of professional standards, compliance with organisational policies and procedure and the provision of quality service and good practice To further develop and maintain good working relationships with the people we support and carers, professionals and relevant external agencies such as community groups, community mental health teams, hospital wards, A&E teams and GPs. Provide operational management and support to build on existing data recording and monitoring systems to improve and facilitate reviews, audits and evaluation processes. To promote Solidarity in a Crisis through engagement across Certitude, local services and individuals across Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham through use of a range of information. and promotional literature in a wide variety of accessible formats. To co-produce and support the development of innovative initiatives for people accessing the · service, such as crisis prevention and stress management workshops etc to develop teams and knowledge across the Mental Health Directorate. · To contribute to the implementation of the new service model within the Lambeth Living Well Alliance and emerging projects through attendance at working groups and service development. About you To be a Peer Support Manager at Certitude, the following are essential: Experience of line management, operation and support procedures for services supporting vulnerable adults and employing people with lived experience of mental health support needs. Experience of leading a team and colleagues to achieve high levels of performance and outcomes; and manage employee/team performance issues. Knowledge of effective and active listening; as well as approaches to facilitating learning and development opportunities Ability to network and apply learning and new practices to the workplace both internally and with external stakeholders and partners Proactive in identifying learning & development opportunities for self and the team Competent IT skills to keep records, use monitoring systems and producing reports Prepared to travel within the boroughs of Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark to services/offices and work occasional unsocial hours About the Organisation At Certitude we are proud of our history of supporting people with complex mental health needs and learning disabilities.
