Job Title: Vehicle Builder / Coach Builder – Rolling Stock Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire Duration: 6-month initial contract Interviews/Start date: Immediate “A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Interior Vehicle Builder / Coach Builder to join a long-term Rolling Stock project” Our client is a well-known rolling stock company who has made a name for themselves as a professional outfit. With many years’ experience they are known for being the world’s leading manufacturer of rolling stock components and supplier of additional sub-systems for rail and commercial vehicles. The Candidate: If you have lots of experience as a high-performing Interior Vehicle Builder / Coach Builder – this is a great contract opportunity with one of the best in the rolling stock sector Our client is seeking a Vehicle Builder / Coach Builder for an ongoing refurbishment project with the ideal experience being strong interior vehicle building skills and come from a solid engineering background with excellent experience within the industry performing interior strip downs and rebuilds trains or buses as an ideal preference. The Role: Working alongside the Electricians who will be running cables and installing power, you will be tasked with removing interior components such as ceiling panels, luggage racks, seats, tables etc.… for the pipe fitters and electricians to come in and do their job before the task of installing new / fresh components that have been removed under the old specification. You will be expected to read technical drawings and return all panels which may involve trimming and adjusting to size, be it new or existing to the vehicle in a condition that will be fit for customer use. Requirements: To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the quality of your previous vehicle building / coach building work and hold a Level 3 Engineering qualification. You must be able to pass a medical that includes sight / hearing and a drug and alcohol test. Rate of Pay and Working Hours: £18 per hour with overtime & weekend rates up to £21 per hour. Monday – Friday 50 hours per week.
