Overview

Support Officer Location: Camden Salary: £22500 Hours: 37.5 Hours per week ( Rota based alternate weeks of Early shift (8am—4pm) & Late Shift (1pm-9pm). One Saturday shift per month (8am-9pm) and one Sunday Shift per month (8am-9pm) We are looking for motivated, flexible and committed individual to work at our exceptional 8-bed, 24 hour complex needs young parents’ scheme in Camden. You will be responsible for support plans, risk assessments, customer reviews, undertaking Parenting Assessments, developing parenting skills and independent living skills. You will have experience of working with young parents and have demonstrable experience of parenting work/parenting assessments, family support, child protection and some experience of care proceedings. The Role Ensure the service is running at exceptionally high standard and meeting all the service specification outlined by commissioners Undertaking keywork sessions, support planning, completing risk assessments and needs reviews Undertaking parenting assessments and providing support to the parents Dealing with incidents and safeguarding concerns in accordance with organisational policies and procedures Prepare clear and concise reports for meetings related to the welfare of the child is a must – eg child protection meetings, child in need meetings, in house Review meetings, strategy meetings, legal planning meetings and care proceedings. Representing the service at external local authority/provider panels and conferences Supporting the management team with auditing of files and quarterly organisational quality support audits Facilitate and encourage effective customer participation, consultation and feedback within the service. About you: You will have an in depth knowledge of child development and the impact of abuse on a child’s well being. You will have experience of planning 1-1 work with hard to engage parents and undertaking observations as part of the assessment process. Experience and knowledge of safeguarding legislation Completing comprehensive reports for statutory meetings (child protection/professionals meetings etc) Knowledge of the Housing Sector and One Housing Group’s activities Extensive experience of multi agency and partnership working to achieve the best outcome for the child A good understanding of issues faced by young parents that live in supported accommodation and have statutory services involvement A good understanding of steps required before move on to independent living.
