Overview
Systems Admin Engineer required for the IT Operations team of this prestigious global corporate. Based in Livingston, you will be part of global team of eight with responsibility for the design, implementation, test, and operations for IT technologies essential to software engineering teams, who enable the business to deliver ground-breaking software solutions to a global customer base. You will engage directly with the software product development, integration, and other engineering teams to deploy, maintain, migrate, and support computer network environments. This role is all about… Serve as technical authority for design, implementation, and ongoing administration and L2/3 support of core infrastructure [network, security, and virtualization] technologies that underpin Software Solutions Factories Provide tier 2/3 IT tech support to Software Solutions product support, customer project teams Own the development of detailed infrastructure/design documentation and technical implementation plans for projects Work with the IT Security Leader regarding security, risk and compliance Work with colleagues in IT globally and other business areas as appropriate to leverage innovative best-practice tech stacks and methodologies as appropriate to drive improved service levels and efficiency of core infrastructure Become familiar with the business’s Software Solutions hardware and software products to enable administration & design of IT technologies that will enable growth and improve competitive edge You will be a highly experienced systems administration engineer with strong IT experience in a technical hands-on position. You will be experienced in: System administration: Windows and Linux - core competency to install, configure, manage Network hardware: Cisco enterprise hardware. VLAN, ACL, routing and VPN - install, configure, manage Security management: Enterprise firewall equipment e.g. Cisco ASA or equivalent - install, configure, manage Access control: Windows Active Directory - install, configure, manage Virtualization: VMware vSphere clusters, experience with HA, DRS, and vStorage backup APIs desirable Strong hands on familiarity with all network SAN/NAS storage products Strong communication skills are imperative as is demonstrated customer focus - to evaluate decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships to partner effectively.
