Purpose of job o The primary duties of this role include: o Assist with the administration and/or checking of 2 monthly payrolls from start to finish including ad-hoc data input of starters, leavers and some other monthly payroll changes. o Liaising with HR to administer childcare vouchers, GAYE, SAYE and cycle to work schemes. o Running & Preparation of reconciling monthly payroll, reports and RTI. o Checking of online expense claim forms. o Preparation of monthly third-party payments o Supporting the Payroll Manager with month end and year end duties, P60’s, P11D’s & PSA tasks. o Dealing with ad-hoc payroll and expenses queries o Assisting Payroll Manager with updating of payroll processes o Any ad-hoc duties and responsibilities as requested by the Payroll Manager needed to support the dept/team. o Ability to work at a senior level at all times, especially in the absence of the Payroll Manager. Person Specifications Essential o Experienced recent user of NGA Resource Link Aurora o Solid Payroll knowledge and experience (min 2 years at a Senior Payroll level with senior responsibilities), thorough understanding of senior responsibilities o Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks in a timely manner o Excellent numerical skills to enable & perform payroll calculations & reconciliations o Meticulous attention to detail o Ability to work in a sole capacity at times using own initiative and able to make decisions with confidence o Good organisation & communication skills o Professional, confident telephone manner o Intermediate Excel/Outlook/Word skills Desirable o Experience of working in a private sector environment. o Advanced knowledge of Excel for V-Look ups and pivot tables needed for report reconciliations. Decision making authority o Generally, in a senior capacity and at other crucial times in the absence of the Payroll manager o Confidence to explain with internal/external enquiries Key competencies o Discreet/confidential o Self-motivated o Efficient & very well organised o Customer focused o Happy to assist with ad-hoc duties when needed o Flexibility to suit needs of the department Knowledge, experience and qualifications Essential o Excellent knowledge of payroll processes, procedures and legislation o Excellent verbal and written skills o Ability to organise own workload o Ability to use own initiative to support team.
