We now have an opportunity to join one of the South West's leading employers as a Supply Demand Planning Analyst to join our Water Resources and Water Efficiency team in Exeter. What will you be doing? Joining our team, the Supply Demand Planning Analyst will work with other team members to forecast future demand for water over timescales from a few days to several decades into the future. You will improve current understanding of the costs and benefits of demand management options, such as leakage reduction, and water efficiency. You’ll evaluate how such options, alongside resource, production, and distribution ones, can best be used to meet future requirements. The Supply Demand Planning Analyst will develop South West Water’s capabilities to move from deterministic to risk-based planning methods. This includes the generation of inputs to the planning process that are based on risk and probability, and the use of decision-making methods that reflect the uncertainties in strategic planning. You’ll contribute to the company’s annual reporting of demand-related data by preparing data and documentation and attending audits. What do you need? Experience of water demand analysis and forecasting Experience of reporting within time and quality constraints Relevant degree, preferably in a numerate discipline such as mathematics, science or engineering Ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Self-motivated with a willingness to learn Able to communicate complex concepts effectively A willingness to challenge existing methods and processes, to improve existing capabilities Knowledge of data handling tools such as SQL, R, Python, Power BI, or similar would be beneficial Knowledge of Pywr, Miser, Aquator, or similar water resources tools would be advantageous What can South West Water offer you?
