Overview

This is an overview of the role: The Help to Buy equity loan product seeks to stimulate demand for new homes by improving affordability. This contributes towards Homes England's delivery of 300,000 new homes per year & the objectives of delivering home ownership products & providing an industry standard service to consumers. The Help to Buy team operates a highly efficient and responsive service through deep understanding of operational policies, procedures, delivery, risks and controls. This ensures the Government's high priority objectives are met for both new loan sales and the longer term performance of the equity loan. The Senior Manager will work within a high performing team with responsibility for management of Home England’s mortgage administrator service contract, to ensure effective management of Homes England’s home equity loan portfolio. This includes ensuring that senior management is provided with accurate and timely management information; and confirming that processes and compliance arrangements for the equity loan portfolio are robust The successful person will be responsible for: • Work closely with the Help to Buy Mortgage Administrator to ensure that robust and efficient processes are in place and rigorously applied on daily basis to consistently manage the Help to Buy programme. • Oversee and ensure successful delivery of Help to Buy Equity Loan programme and management of all post sales activity through monitoring and recording volumes of Deeds and DS1’s to ensure compliance by the Mortgage Administrator. • Ensure MI is consistent, supporting the development and analysis of management information and process documents to identify breaks or deficiencies and facilitate remedial activity with internal and external partners in a timely and accurate manner. • Use expertise to develop Homes England processes and procedures and support colleagues across Homes England by sharing good practice, adopting and championing best practice through continuous improvement of business processes ensuring consistency of application and approach. • Managing the administering equity mortgage redemption processes, ensuring correct procedure and sign-off achieved before Homes England releases its security on properties. In order to complete the responsibilities for this role, the successful candidate will have: • Working knowledge of contracts and standard contracting terms for supply of services. • Experience of overseeing and conducting regular audits of the mortgage administrator, assuring a standardised approach to monitoring performance. • Excellent communications skills (presentation, written and oral) and confidence in dealing with multiple levels of technical and managerial colleagues. • Well-developed negotiation skills and proven experience of influencing internal and external stakeholders. Strong organisational and analytical skills with an ability to proactively identify, prioritise, delegate and resolve issues to deliver process improvements. • Reliable, enthusiastic and able to work effectively in a team with well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to influence at all levels and cross-functional and organisational boundaries to effectively manage interfaces. • Creative - Working proactively in ambiguous situations.
