Overview

Senior Solutions Architect - £520 P/D (OUTSIDE IR35) Previous experience within the railway sector advantageous. Your new company You will be working for one of the largest public sector bodies in the UK which looks after the transport network in London. Your new role The Client is looking for a Solution Architect, with hands-on experience of designing and implementing Operational Technology (OT) including CCTV, SCADA, and Building Management Systems, to join a small team of architects that support station technology and data requirements. They are developing and implementing products to support a number of projects, some of which include: - Working with Product Mangers and Business Stakeholders to define a long-term reference architecture and roadmap for CCTV, Building Management and OT within stations Implementing tactical improvements to CCTV Systems to support operational needs Working to extract data from SCADA systems for reporting and management purposes Supporting the development of Tools and Mobile Applications to present data to operational users Working with our Networking teams to define a networking roadmap to support OT in Stations The architects work with various different teams across the organisation and are now looking for a Solution Architect who is able to take ownership of multiple projects and see them through to completion. What you'll need to succeed Solution Architect Experience; understand solution architecture deliverables and their contribution to the overall delivery process Understand common solution design patterns. For example, systems integration patterns, high volume real-time data processing, micro services Strong Stakeholder management, especially at senior level Understand how Operational Technology, SCADA, CCTV and Building Management Systems work, how to manage data, share services and integrate them into operational systems Understand LAN and WAN technologies Have experience of defining architectures and roadmaps that incorporate a mixture of technologies from different suppliers, both on premise and cloud hosted. Cloud technologies and solution design (Azure / AWS) Experience in handling / managing delivery aspects of projects (supply / procurement of new products / systems for projects, etc.) Systems integration (interface definition, management, standard data models, etc) Remote device management (monitoring, updating, failure management, security, etc) Ideally, experience of working on rail / transport / infrastructure projects. In this role you will be working with a variety of different stakeholders, predominately on the initial stages of projects to introduce new solutions and products for the business. Due to the requirements of the team right now, they are looking at architects with delivery experience (those who have advised / introduced new products for projects; worked with development teams and have actively supported projects through to successful completion).
