This role is currently on hold. Senior International Conference / Congress Manager with extensive business travel management experience needed. This is a superb permanent job for a Travel & Events Manager with circa 6-7 years of business travel and B2B conference & events management experience working for a large public sector / membership body type of organisation. ROLE An exciting Travel & Events Manager job (reporting to the Head of Travel & Events), that will see you working on all the business travel and conference/events for this highly regarded global membership organisation (transportation sector). In this role you'll manage a small team (3 staff) and will deputise for the Head of Travel & Events as and when required. Key responsibilities are:- Business travel management (travel advice and liaising & negotiating with a TMC) B2B events and conference management Managing and leading a small team (coaching, development, performance reviews etc) Sponsor & partner liaison and management Supplier negotiation and contracting Delegate registration management (using Cvent) Guest & speaker invitations Budget management Management of additional event services (interpreters, AV & production etc) NB: This role is 60% business travel management orientated - the remaining 40% of the workload is events/congress management and leading the team and there will some travel involved. CANDIDATE You'll be a detailed Business Travel professional with extensive Conference & Events management knowledge and the diplomacy, confidence and gravitas to liaise effectively with senior level executives as well as sponsors and partners. You'll have a proven background (corporate, NFP or public sector ideally) of organising B2B international events & conferences and managing a small team and most importantly solid experience in handling 3 business travel for an organisation (including flights, visas, travel insurance, risk management, immunisations, hotel block booking etc). You'll also be a good relationship builder and have experience of supplier purchasing, negotiation and contract management especially with regard to Travel Management Companies, hotels and interpretation suppliers. Excellent written and spoken English is essential and knowledge of other languages is advantageous but not crucial. You should also be willing to travel occasionally with the job and an interest and commitment to human rights and social justice would be advantageous.
