Overview
A major infrastructure organisation is looking to recruit a dynamic and driven interim Finance Director to provide companywide leadership for all aspects of Finance, Procurement, Administration and IT within an exciting business involved with high-profile projects in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to join an innovative business with a highly professional team exuding lots of positive energy. Responsibilities include: Lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes and overall compliance Drive an aligned view of business performance through consolidated reporting Lead the finance team as they maintain accounting processes that will provide an accurate view of the business' financial position Lead the finance team as they manage working capital and cash requirements, ensuring the liquidity of the business Manage utilisation of funding sources in a coordinated and prioritised way Lead all procurement activities Manage supply chain and commercial relationships Provide commercial support, including development and management of contracts Ensure that all actions and agreements are undertaken with commercial and legal responsibility Be accountable for the development of processes, definition of system requirements and management of associated data related to Finance and the teams which sit within this business area. Be accountable for overall system architecture and coordinate the rollout of all programme wide systems to ensure all systems are designed, structured and delivered on time and meet the needs of the project. Proactively look to drive cost, time and wasted effort out of programmes Experience Includes: Qualified Accountant Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of large scale and technically complex projects, commercial issues, legal aspects, financial control and procurement processes and techniques Excellent financial acumen and a track record in prudent financial control Excellent communication, relationship management and presentation skills Strong leadership, people and team management skills Business performance management expertise (including strategy development, planning, budgeting and reporting) Understanding of ERP system utilisation and maintenance Understanding of IT service delivery is desirable The ability to work within a complex stakeholder environment The ability to develop high performing, delivery focused multidisciplinary teams that are part of an organisation undertaking matrix ways of working Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex data (quantitative and qualitative), draw conclusions, and produce solutions and decisions To apply, you will need to be a qualified accountant with a proven track record steering large-scale projects and budgets within matrix organisations. You will be an experienced FD / CFO with a highly diligent approach to your work, with a focus on developing and maintaining internal and external professional stakeholder relationships. You will thrive in complex, fast-paced environments which require excellent organization and communication skills. You will also need to be immediately available and also able to work INSIDE IR35. This opportunity could become permanent for the right person.
