Are you an experienced Slide Head Lathe Setter/Operator looking for a new role in the engineering field to enhance your career prospects? A leading firm that designs and manufactures exhaust after-treatment systems, reducing emissions from heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, in Gainsborough in the East Midlands is currently recruiting Slide Head Lathe Setters or Operators to work on a full-time basis and is offering a competitive salary. Your Role: As the Sliding Head Setter Operator working in the machine shop department, and reporting to the engineering workshop manager, the role involves close liaison and collaboration with other areas of the business, team work, and working on your initiative. You will be required to work from engineering drawings and programme, set up and operate the slide head lathe. You'll have experience of interacting with business systems, in particular IFS, you will process and complete shop orders. You'd be responsible for planning your workload to optimise machine operation whilst ensuring supply of machined parts. Additionally you will work with minimal supervision and help to develop apprentices and train staff in the safe operation of the machines. Skills: You'll need to understand and adhere to health and safety policies and procedures Ability to introduce new methods and ideas ensuring a continuous improvement ethos Demonstrates attention to detail through all stages of processes alongside commitment to the role.
