Overview
Support Worker £10 - £11 (depending on experience) London Full time/Part time About us The Netpex semi –independent projects are for care leavers, who do not possess the ability to live independently and require 24/7 staff’s support. The focus of our service delivery is to help and support our clients to develop their independent living skills whilst in transition towards adulthood and being able to manage their own tenancy in the community effectively. Thus Netpex is obliged to ensure its policies and procedures aim at safeguarding the service users. We are currently recruiting a number of Support Workers to provide support (both physically and emotionally) to service users living in the project. We require people willing to travel within London and surrounding areas. Each person will cover our homes as a cluster e.g. South-East (Catford, Mottingham, Sidcup, Purley), South-West/West (Kingston, Sutton, Twickenham), North-West/West (Kingsbury, Southall). PLEASE INDICATE WHICH AREA YOU WOULD PREFER TO WORK ON YOUR COVER LETTER The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping young people achieve outcomes and be committed to delivering a high quality service. You will be experienced in working in a semi-independent provision, assisting service users aged 16-21 in developing their independent living skills. You must also be comfortable “lone working”, and have a calm and resilient nature. Key Responsibilities include: ·To provide intensive support (both practical and emotional) to young people living in the Project. ·To act as a positive influence on clients encouraging responsible behaviour and self-reliance ·To support people in a way that maximises their self-sufficiency and enables them to live independently in their own homes. ·To act as a resource co-ordinator and advocate in order that clients can make informed choices about how they live in the local community. ·To communicate effectively with all professionals involved with the care of the young people in the home ·To write weekly/monthly reports, updating social workers about the young person’s activities for the week/month Essential skills/experience: ·NVQ Level 3 – Health and Social Care for Children and Young People’s workforce OR equivalent (Please note Health and Social care with ADULTS is NOT acceptable) ·Good written and spoken English ·Clear DBS ·Two references (one must be from the most recent employment in care) ? ·Have the right to work in the UK ·Have at least 2 years’ experience working in a semi-independent setting ·Able to use initiative ·Able to multi task and prioritise ·A passion for working with young people Desirable skills/experience: ·Additional relevant qualifications (safeguarding/CSE/mental health awareness etc) ·Good team player ·Therapeutic qualification or training Benefits: ·Flexible working hours ·Pension ·Training offered every month ·Opportunities to progress through the organisation Application process: ·Application stage: CV & Cover letter (PLEASE INDICATE THE AREA YOU WISH TO WORK ON YOUR COVER LETTER) · Telephone Interviews ·Face – to – face interviews (DUE TO COVID-19 INTERVIEWS WILL BER HELD ONLINE VIA ZOOM) Additional points: ·Available to start ASAP If you have the right skills, experience and drive then click the APPLY button now This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89946168
