The Role: The role of the Senior Systems Engineer will be to Create, Support, Maintain and Administer high availability Infrastructure Systems as well as take ownership of full project lifecycle including BAU operational support in this full multi-vendor environment. Whilst assisting with BAU activities to support day to day Systems Support Operations in an ISP environment, you will also be tasked with Infrastructure Expansion Projects as well as performing Upgrades and Deployments in a full multi-vendor environment. And at the same time this client will offer you a role that will present you with an opportunity to put your own DNA into a growing business. And you will coexist with a Premier League Network Team to deliver best broadband services in the London area. To secure this role your technical portfolio will consist of: · Strong Experience of Linux Systems Administration - CentOS ideally but any Linux/UNIX · Setting up, Administration & Maintenance of Linux based DHCP & DNS servers · Setting up & the Management of Linux Distro based Servers · Maintaining Linux based Firewalls and VPN's · Experience working with core internet application protocols like DHCP, DNS and SNMP is essential · Configuring HA (High Availability) for existing systems · Performing Upgrades & Applying Security Patches to Servers · Expensive Knowledge of application and network security best practices · Excellent understanding of cloud and virtualization concepts · Experience working with Configuration Management Systems i.e. Puppet / Ansible etc · Experience working with AWS EC2, ECS, Kubernetes etc · Experience working with relational and non-relational databases · Strong scripting knowledge and experience - Ideally Python, Perl, Shell, Bash, Ruby · Any experience in Network related Automation would be beneficial but not essential · Working knowledge of IPv6 protocol is essential. · Creating Systems & Infrastructure / Network Diagrams, SOWs, HLD, LLDs · Clear & Concise documentation of projects or other issues is essential Your role responsibilities will include: · Configure & Maintain open source monitoring systems · Apply backup mechanism for existing and new system deployments · Customize open source systems as per our requirements · Assist with BAU activities to support day to day system support operations in an ISP environment. · Own full project lifecycle of internal projects · Automate provisioning, monitoring and support processes · Adhoc out of hours support for customer service impacting systems · Create support and maintenance documentation for infrastructure and systems · Deliver Systems projects in timely manner · Automate network related systems This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89850729
