Due to continued growth we have an exciting opportunity for an Automation Engineer to join our highly motivated team. This is a key role and fantastic challenge for an experienced Automation Engineer to add significant value and improvement to quality and productivity through the implementation of production process automation and robotics. We are looking for someone with the skills and experience to research, develop, design and implement automation into current and new processes for medical device production and assembly. The role will work alongside Process, Manufacturing and Design Engineers. Reporting to the Process Engineering Team Leader, the Automation Engineer is responsible for: Continually reviewing manufacturing processes Analysing and designing automation solutions to: Reduce reliance on human intervention - Reduce waste and cost - Improve quality and yield - Continually improve productivity Producing business cases to be understood by a wider audience for project approval Keeping current on advances in industrial automation and robotics Designing and implementing new processes with NPD, Engineering, Production and outside suppliers and specialists Assisting in the qualification and documentation of tooling, including process controls with post design The successful candidate will have proven knowledge of designing and implementing automation or robotic solutions; a degree in either mechanical or electrical engineering and experience of specifying new equipment with external suppliers.
