The Opportunity: As a Senior Data Hub & Provisioning Manager you will be accountable for the data provisioning strategy, and its delivery across EO. This will include a clear strategy to simplify the existing reporting and analytics estate through consolidation and decommissioning, as well as building new capabilities. You will be responsible for delivering aspects such as the data warehouse, hub, lake and data engineering capability. This will involve working closely with business stakeholders, and leaders across both IT and programme delivery. In addition to working closely with existing transformation programmes, you will also be responsible for defining and sponsoring foundational projects. The role is also accountable for defining and implementing an approach for data acquisition and sourcing, along with associated governance, and overall provisioning throughout the data and analytics estate. Including ensuring data is sourced and managed consistently across all transformation and BAU initiatives. Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to: Accountable for the overall data ecosystem including data lakes, warehouses, MDM systems, operational data stores and lab environments to provide data for reporting, analytics and data science. Including creating and managing a catalogue of sources and monitoring the quality of data provided from those sources using a suite of data quality and reconciliation reports. Responsible for working closely with architecture and IT to define the technical solutions which provide these capabilities Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient sharing of knowledge and information, and a single vision and strategy for data and analytics. Working collaboratively with BI and Reporting team, Data Science and IT to establish a solid, rounded platform to support various use cases Develop a methodology for data sourcing to be used by both projects and BAU, and establishing relevant working groups and governance bodies to manage it Responsible for the governance of various data components including highly governed areas such as the warehouse, lighter touch, more agile environments such as lakes, and temporary, exploratory environments such as labs Work with the business to understand future needs regarding sources of data and provisioning capabilities. Provide thought leadership on data and analytics to project and BAU teams You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience: Excellent understanding of data provisioning patterns including Lakes, ODS, Warehouses, Semantic Layers Experience in liaising with business stakeholders to identify, document and communicate business requirements Strong communication and senior stakeholder management skills. Working knowledge of insurance/reinsurance desirable Excellent Problem solving and negotiation skills Strong technical data and analytics skills Experience of working on large transformational projects including significant data delivery At QBE, we view our people as our most precious asset.
