Overview

Senior Operations Analyst Given the ongoing expansion of the renewables sector and our project portfolio of over 1GW of onshore wind power, Community Windpower Ltd are looking to recruit a Senior Operations Analyst to expand their in-house Operations & Assets Team. With a primary focus on our seven operational wind farms in Scotland, the main purpose of this position is to: Monitor and analyse turbine and fleet performance using SCADA information, to measure turbine availability and deliver enhanced performance through analytics; To develop, manage and maintain an Asset Management Database for the operational fleet; Charting major component replacements and keeping records for all servicing, inspections and turbine works; and To measure and manage OEM performance using agreed KPIs. Main responsibilities of the role: To be involved in and oversee the monitoring of SCADA systems for all operational wind farms daily – interrogating the daily log of downtime (by turbine) and recording the fault/alarm and impact to availability; To be involved in and oversee the monthly reporting of wind farm performance; calculating turbine availability, assessing yield against P50 target, considering key risks impacting continuing operation of the assets and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of each turbine OEM; To produce and distribute plant availability report to off-takers for each wind farm (as necessary); To communicate with our Operations Supervisors to discuss faults, turbine stops and time for repair; using the information to produce a daily report charting fleet performance, faults and downtime and yield; To liaise with the turbine OEMs on a weekly basis to discuss and approve planned works across each site and be involved in monthly meetings with the OEMs; presenting KPI measures and contract availability; To oversee the calculation of contractual availability on a monthly basis; liaising with the finance team to agree the final position and signing off with OEM; To manage and maintain the asset management database containing all relevant information in respect of each turbine in the fleet – to include major component replacements, service records, HV maintenance, statutory inspections, monitoring regimes (as necessary) etc; To perform site calibration tests, Power Curve analysis and any other technical analysis on the turbines; using analytics to interrogate SCADA data to establish trends and recurring errors to drive performance by eliminating downtime and enhancing yield by technical improvements; To liaise with software providers to develop and deploy data analysis to further enhance the efficient reporting and measuring of technical issues to provide corrective and pro-active actions to drive performance of the fleet; To manage, in conjunction with the Operations Supervisors and the Natural Power control centre, the safe operation of the wind farms and safety of any site personnel; To perform any other duties as required by the business.
