Lead Engineer

Lead Engineer Upto £70,000 Cirencester – remote working options available We are working with an incredible technical company who are looking for a passionate Lead Engineer to join their close-knit team. You will be working 2 days a week from their Cirencester offices and 3 days remote working. This small, yet engaging team deliver excellence across the board and want an equally enthusiastic Lead Engineer to help take them to the next level. The successful Lead Engineer will be working with the product owner and designer to showcase their knowledge and experience, demonstrating good project management skills. Responsibilities: Understand projects, providing feedback and carrying out research Ensure the architecture is fit to meet the needs of the business Support the engineering team Manage middleware development between backend/frontend applications Lead technical decisions in the team Assist with technical design and estimation Ensure minimal defects and investigate to fix issues Perform code reviews of your team members' work Participate in software design discussions Ensure new and existing applications are scaled to meet expected demand Identify and fix gaps in system reliability, such as production monitoring Continuously improve the software infrastructure, such as the deployment process Team management duties, including grievances, mentoring, performance reviews, on-boarding and reviewing Skills/ Experience: Highly proficient with PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, HTML & CSS Experience using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, Node Experience using MVC frameworks – Laravel, Symfony, Zend You will have worked with cloud computing (ideally AWS) Able to create REST API’s Ideally you will have worked with things like Git, Grunt, Gulp and Webpack Experience managing other developers and carrying out code reviews A keen eye for trends in the market You will have worked in an agile/scrum environment Desirable, but not essential: Experience with Redux and React Native.
