Job title: Buyer Contract type: Permanent Salary: Negotiable (DOE) Location: Crowborough, East Sussex Start Date: ASAP Randstad CPE Contact: Katherine Murrell Business area: Civil Engineering The Company A growing contractor that are well known in the region. They aim to provide a progressive culture by rewarding teamwork and encouraging work-life balance. Due to growth they require a Buyer to join their procurement team. The Role As a Buyer, you will be ensuring all processes outlined in materials procurement policy are adhered to at all times. You will also ensure that the plant hire database is up to date & cross check all invoices against it. You will ensure orders are placed promptly and to a timely manner with suppliers. This will help to ensure the best prices are found and balancing price & lead times to ensure project delivery is not compromised. What will you be doing? Focusing on minimising risks and maximising gross profits Buying all relevant materials in line with the business requirements Obtaining bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials Carrying out feasibility studies What you'll need: Previous Buyer experience (ideally) working for a main contractor Proven experience within civil engineering Educated to Degree level, or equivalent Strong time management and organisation skills Able to present information in a logical manner Experience working under pressure and to tight deadlines Confident working closely with Pre-Construction Managers What to do now… If this role is something you are looking for, please click 'apply now' and submit your CV for immediate consideration.
