Minster Beach is just over a mile away and offers good walking areas along the sea front. The Isle of Sheppey is close to Sittingbourne, the Medway Towns and Maidstone. There is a local bus route with a stop just outside of Winchester House and the railway station in Sheerness is approximately three miles away. As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your patient support and encouragement will assist individuals to run their own lives as much as possible - helping with personal care, supporting someone to rustle up some breakfast, do the weekly shop or visit a local café. We also support people to take part in some our amazing arts and wellbeing activities - from dance to music making, swimming to going to concerts. Being a Support Worker can be the springboard to your future career - and to all sorts of opportunities and management roles. Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people's lives. Flexibility is needed as working times do vary and will include evenings and occasional weekends; we will however provide you with a rota well in advance so you can plan your social life accordingly.
