Support Worker Service/Location: Aspens - Pembury Supported Living, Cornford Lane, Pembury, Tunbridge Wells, TN24QU Do you enjoy seeing the people you support develop and become independent? We are looking for a Support Worker for our supported living services, to join our professional team that is dedicated to supporting people to achieve a progressively more independent life style and maximise their potential. Our support workers work across three services (Willows, Hawthorns and Hollies) which support 16 adults with learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder and mental ill health. Our service users lead full and meaningful lives but can, on occasions, struggle to communicate effectively, which could lead to an increase in anxiety and behaviours that may challenge us. The support workers assist service users with activities of daily living such as personal care, preparing meals and keeping the environment safe and homely. We also support with leisure activities such as swimming, pub trips, bowling, shopping, day trips, meals out, cinema and holidays amongst other things. 37 hours per week on a rota which includes weekends and sleep in nights. We are looking for flexibility but can also be flexible in return About us Aspens has over 100 years of experience in helping children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities, those on the autism spectrum, and/or those with complex needs. Support Worker Requirements NVQ 2 or Equivalent in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
