Covenant Analyst - Full-time - London - Circa 30k Working for one of the Largest Pensions Consultancy in the UK, specialising in pensions, actuarial, Investment consulting and administration. Over 110Million in revenue, over 1200 staff in 16 uk locations and advising 26 schemes with over £1bn of assets. About the Role We are looking for a Covenant Analyst on an Associate or Senior Associate level. This role requires excellent analytic and communication skills, along with a drive to learn about and understand the financial health of businesses. You will be liaising with clients and other advisers regarding our data and information requests, as well as follow up queries seeking further clarifications. You will also help with general research, compliance related Main duties and responsibilities Tasks will include but are not limited to: Gather information from relevant sources (including requesting information from companies and obtaining publicly available information) as part of employer covenant projects. Use various data sources to obtain relevant information, such as DataStream, Companies House, or equivalent. Analyse financial statements of companies and other information received to assess the current financial position of employer(s), both on a qualitative and quantitative basis. Prepare draft reports and / or presentations of varying degrees of detail, setting out the results of the employer covenant analysis. Research various industries, sectors or companies, as required for client works and/or business development. Assist with a range of marketing related activities regarding the Covenant Advisory Team, including: o Assist with the preparation of briefing notes and other literature regarding the latest legislative developments and case studies relating to the employer covenant. o Assist with the preparation of internal training courses regarding the employer covenant. While the candidate will not be expected to deliver these courses initially, there will be opportunities for the job holder to take on these responsibilities over time, depending on their skillset. o Assist with the preparation of presentations regarding various topics relating to the employer covenant, to be presented externally for marketing purposes. Again, there will be opportunities for the job holder to take on responsibility for delivering these presentations in future. o Assisting with tenders to win new business. Essential Strong numerical and analytical background. Diligent, with exceptional attention to detail. Strong desire to learn and work within a dynamic team Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including report writing skills. Ability to work towards targets and deadlines Highly organised with the ability to actively manage projects and workload. Adaptable and reliable, with the ability to adjust priorities and multi-task. Skills in the fields of accounting, finance and/or economics. Commitment to client service and assisting team members. Ability to work with other professionals, e.g. actuaries and lawyers Desire to contribute to idea generation and the confidence to express a view Friendly, personable and able to work as an effective member of a team. Desire to enhance accounting and /or financial services knowledge further, for example by studying towards a professional qualification such as becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). MS Office skills and experience
