Overview
I'm currently recruiting for a listed organisation who are world leaders in their field. Due to an increase in workload they are recruiting for a Management Accountant, initially on a 6 month basis, but with a high chance of it being extended and/ or made permanent. The primary focus of this role is to provide financial and management accounting services for one of their key divisions. It will cover periodic management accounts, annual budget information and quarterly re-forecasting exercises. Typical duties will include: Provide a high level of variance analysis across the management accounts. Produce a high quality monthly management accounting pack for the Finance Director to circulate to the senior executive team and board. Ensure that all general ledger balance sheet account codes are efficiently reconciled on a regular basis. Personally reconcile a number of more complicated accounts codes. Review reconciliation processes of other account codes to ensure they are effective and efficient. Enhance and develop the current financial reporting tools in used in the finance function through advanced financial modelling techniques. Investigate, recommend and implement changes in working practices and systems to improve the efficiency of the team. To provide financial support, advice and information for any new initiatives and projects undertaken by the organisation. In order to be successful in this role there are two pieces of previous experience they are looking for. Firstly someone who has overseen the month end process and can evidence how they assisted in its streamlining. Secondly advanced Excel skills, for example V Look Ups/ Pivot Tables/ SUM IF/ Macro.
