Overview

The Business A private equity business specialising in risk-controlled investing, in both top-tier and direct investments to produce long terms returns. As a result, the business has won numerous performance rewards since launching in 2002. The Job You will join the team as an App Analyst responsible for supporting the successful use of the businesses’ investment platform which is used across the investment management and operations teams. This includes managing data collection, processing and reporting as well as investigating issues and aiding with the testing and rollout of new features. Job Breakdown: • Collection and processing of investment research data. • Assist business users with ad hoc data queries. • Manage and implement report change requests from the business. • Investigate issues and provide solutions or escalate to internal teams resolve. • Suggest process improvements and provide support for new features. • Be involved in system upgrades and the enhancement of application processes, particularly during the testing and delivery phases. • Support the Application and Analytics Specialist in the provision of business process and technical support for the applications. Who Fits the Bill? • Educated to degree level, high academic achievers preferred. • A demonstrable ability to prioritize, multi-task and work to tight deadlines • A track record of learning new skills • Possesses strong communication skills in English - both written and verbal. • Analytically minded and solution driven. • A strong familiarity with Excel (including VBA). • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills. • Ability to work in teams and bringing a collaborative mindset • Ability to help shape the project direction and to influence inform and manage stakeholders. • Over time be able to work independently and under a relatively low level of direct supervision. • A strong desire to initiate and drive data integrity, best practice and process improvement within the firm. • Gather requirements and produce documentation to support any testing or recommended changes to processes. Bonus Points For • A general understanding of data, data structures and relational databases to allow for efficient investigation of issue resolutions and to interface effectively with product providers and in-house IT and IS professionals. • Knowledge of one or more of the following applications: Webfolio, AlternativeSoft. • Basic SQL skills. • Experience within the Hedge Fund industry or alternatively experience in Funds or Investment Management. • Familiarity with Bloomberg.
