Assistant Manager, Audit & Assurance (Glas Or Edi)

Adam Appointments ,
Glasgow, City of Glasgow
Contract Type: Permanent

Overview

Following a major new engagement win, our Big 4 client is looking to recruit experienced audit professionals into their Edinburgh and/or Glasgow offices. This is an opportunity for someone to get involved at the start of what will be one of the UK firm’s largest client relationships – a chance to get in at the ground level and become an established member of a high profile team. Whilst these roles will not suit everyone, the personal development opportunities that being part of this type of team can bring can be career defining. From our experience, individuals will turbo-charge their client skills, develop highly sought after industry knowledge and insights, establish lifelong relationships that will keep giving way beyond this role, and have access to an array of market leading training. You need to think carefully about where a role of this type can take you, and look at the longer-term career benefits on offer. A successful candidate is likely to possess some or all of the following: Have a relevant professional qualification, such as the ACA or ACCA; Working knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP; Experience of managing external audits and assurance engagements – whilst financial services experience is desired, it is not essential; and Strong interpersonal skills including a proven track record of establishing strong relationships with clients. Whilst our client is particularly interested in candidates who have worked in this type of environment before, they recognise that there are some fantastic audit professionals in smaller audit firms or industry organisations; as well as individuals who have little or no FS experience, but are keen to break into the sector. They are very open-minded for the right people. If you see the value in this role and are ready to take on the challenge, please get in touch for further information.
