Team - Arundel Project Hours - 37.5 hours per week This exciting role includes a high level of client contact, opportunities to work with external agencies such as statutory mental health services, substance use services, other community based organisations and a chance to be part of a growing, innovative organisation at the forefront of tackling homelessness in the capital. SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment. The Arundel Project is a high support hostel, housing 22 people experiencing mental ill health who may also have other complex support needs, such as substance use and offending behaviour and who may present with challenging behaviours. The project is located minutes away from Canonbury Overground Station, with easy access to Angel, Highbury and Islington and Holloway Road. Your primary role will be to enable people to understand their emotional and mental health needs and manage these effectively. You will work with clients and their support networks to develop their living skills, develop and manage relationships, build social networks, access education, training or employment, and move towards more independence. You will be joining a Project staffed by other Support/Project Workers, Trainee Support/Project Workers, Night staff and a Recovery and Opportunities Worker( ROC). The Project provides support 24 hours a day (no sleep ins), and requires regular weekend working. The shifts patterns are early, mid or late shifts spanning the hours 8.00am-10.00pm Within this setting, you will work to establish a culture of co-production where clients are at the forefront of the work that is carried out, helping to promote autonomy and build individual confidence and interpersonal skills. You will also work closely with the ROC worker to deliver an activity programme that is built around the specific needs of our clients and the service; with an opportunity to utilise your own skills and interests. We are looking for a highly motivated, resilient, innovative and flexible individual who will be able to work creatively within a recovery framework to support clients to manage their mental health, build social networks, participate in both the service & the wider community and increase their independence. Whilst experience from a varied background is welcomed, direct experience of holding a caseload and delivering support within a residential/accommodation-based setting is preferred, alongside housing management experience.
