SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment. Our Newham Move-On Support service supports rough sleepers in the borough of Newham aged 18 and over, with the aim of addressing their support needs and tackling the obstacles preventing them from moving on to settled accommodation. We are looking to recruit three highly motivated, committed and experienced individuals to join our established team in the London borough of Newham (Manor Park). As a Support Worker, you will support the day to day running of the service, taking responsibility for a caseload of 12-15 clients, producing comprehensive and high-quality risk assessments and support plans. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable people with high levels of needs and risk and an understanding of the range of appropriate approaches, to working clients with mental and physical ill heath, drug and/or alcohol use and/or other social issues. Additionally, you will have an understanding of housing and other related legislation and be able to liaise with a range of service providers and agencies; in order to establish or improve services for our clients.
