Site Engineer (Civils/Water)

Job Title: Site Engineer Location: Tamworth (Future work available across the East Midlands region) Sector: Water (AMP7, Clean Water, Waste Water, Infrastructure, Civil Engineering) Region: Severn Trent Water Region (AMP7) Job Type: Permanent Role Salary: Negotiable on relevant industry experience (Circa £25,000 to £30,000 Per Annum) Our client, an established Civil Engineering Contractor who operate within the Water & Waste-water sector, are currently recruiting a Site Engineer near the Tamworth area, to initially work on an upcoming Water Infrastructure projects within the Severn Trent Water region, replacing existing water pipes in the local area, to improve the water pipeline for the future. In this role, you will be required to complete all setting out on site, completing all excavation, pipelaying and concrete works related to the scheme. Future workload will be spread across the East Midlands area and this opportunity will provide the chance to progress through your career over the coming years, with the support of experienced management staff. Day to day duties include but are not limited to the: Reporting into a Site Manager and Offsite Contracts Manager. Ensuring accurate setting out and dimensional control within specified tolerances. Ensuring drawings, specifications and other contract documents are kept up to date. Developing programmes of work, for forward planning, in collaboration with the supply chain. Ensuring that the project programme is available and communicated to the supply chain prior to works commencing. Circulating subcontractor progress meetings. Assisting with the production weekly and monthly progress reports as appropriate. Communicating programme risks to the Site Manager or Contracts Manager and maintaining records for contractual correspondence. Planning, managing and documenting site resources, to ensure a safe working environment and to achieve the programme. Ensuring accurate daily records are maintained and communicated for labour, material and plant, including Sub-Contractors. Ensuring the Project and Commercial Team, including Project Manager & Contracts Manager, are kept appraised of variations to the works and any matter likely to have commercial or contractual implications. Managing responsibilities for all Health and Safety policies and procedure. Maintaining Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements, procedures and policies. Candidates will ideally have: An industry applicable qualification (I.e Degree or NVQ equivalent). Circa 2 to 5 years' experience working as a Site Engineer within the Civil Engineering sector, most preferably with experience working on Water or Utilities Projects (AMP6 Projects, Pipeline Infrastructure, Water Treatment Works etc). Relevant site qualifications such as a CSCS Card, First Aid Certificate etc. Ambition to progress in your role and be self-motivated. Strong communication and IT skills.
