Overview

SmartChoice Solutions are currently seeking a Clojure Developer on a permanent basis for a fast growing, FinTech start-up based in London. Our client are using cutting-edge technology, to solve real world problems. The employer is accustomed to having people working remotely, so whilst you would be expected to start fully remote (depending on the COVID-19 situation), you will be able to continue 2-3 days remote working once the world has returned to "normality". The successful applicant will be working closely with the CTO to build critical financial data insights and data analytics using Clojure functional programming language. They will be the kind of person who enjoys challenges and is willing to work hard to see the achievements. Responsibilities include: · Develop and implement new software programs · Maintain and improve the performance of existing software · Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical colleagues · Test and maintain software products & recommend improvements · Develop models and interact with sensitive data to extrapolate valuable insights in financial behaviour. · Ability to work remotely and deliver to deadlines. Qualifications/skills required: ·A b achelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a similar discipline). ·Strong A level results, particularly in Maths/Mathematical heavy disciplines. ·At least 2 years commercial software development experience, ideally with Clojure. We would also consider candidates with Scala or Java, back-end building micro-services, database (SQL). · Demonstrate good working knowledge of Agile development, using SCRUM/TDD/BDD; familiarity with github and cloud platforms like GCP/AWS/Azure. ·A can-do attitude, hardworking, passionate about programming, an interest in maths and scientific computing. · Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively · Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities · Strong attention to detail ·Somebody who has an entrepreneurial mindset and wants to the chance to grow with a rapidly growing organisation This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89903935
