Strategic Commissioner - Market & Performance - Adult Care and Support Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council £60,688 - £63,734 per annum. Incremental progression is subject to performance. Our commissioning approach is through partnership with people who use services and providers, working to understand their preferences and challenges, using evidence and best practice to achieve better outcomes, and a vibrant social care market. The Role This new role is key to how we will shape and define future commissioning intentions, influencing the use of Council resources. It will: Cover the commissioning cycle and delivery. Manage contracts with relationships. Be market facing. Have strong negotiating skills and advanced contract understanding. Build relationships with stakeholders and traded services. Set standards to council services and confront issues where needed. Manage the brokerage team, business manager and commissioning manager. Take responsibility for internal systsems, governance, risk and issue, forward plans and finance - payments. The Person You will be a creative thinker with the needs of the customer at the heart of everything you do. Passionate about commissioning services for a high performing borough. Extensive experience of commissioning and / or contract management within health or social care. Experience of writing and developing strategies and plans that reflect on national and local priorities. Experience of leading and successfully delivering multi- disciplinary and complex projects and/or programmes. Knowledge of personalisation and the transformation agenda for adult social care.
