Overview

Key accountabilities Manage Business Relationship with Stakeholder to understand Business Challenges and Business priorities Faciltate workshops to understand priorities. Map as-is and to-be Business process Takes full responsibility for business analysis within a significant areas of the business and is capable of guiding senior management towards accepting change brought about through process and organisational change. Obtain an understanding of the market within which the business operates, along with the commercial and competitive pressures, and potential opportunities available Proficient in validating and justifying business needs against current current business strategies and company IT architectural roadmap. Pro-actively investigate, analyse, challenge and define the detailed business processes and requirements to support the strategic and tactical goals of the organisation. This includes (a) defining requirements specifications to support these processes, and (b) supporting the delivery of these solutions by working with the business teams to ensure the defined requirements of the business are met at all stages of any project. Prepare Business Requirements Documents and Functional Specifications in conjunction with internal IT resources or external software providers to enable detailed estimates of the cost of proposed solutions to be produced Construct process flows and mapping of as-is processes and gain understanding of how they interact and support the business objectives Undertake analysis of the business case for proposed changes, providing quantifiable return on investment metrics including payback timeframes. Define, develop and validate process improvements including impact assessment where applicable Obtain buy in and sign-off from business sponsors and stakeholders at appropriate milestones throughout the project Provide detailed input to feasibility phases, concept definition, business cases and strategic option analysis as required Work with the business units to define requirements covering the functional, non functional and data requirements for new business and system solutions Identify project / business risks and issues and propose mitigating actions Document work to agreed quality standards Provide input to the definition and production of training plans and materials for the training area Provide input to the definition of UAT test scripts and test case definition for the testing area Support and assist in the implementation of the new business processes and associated system functionality Focus on personal development and maintaining levels of knowledge and expertise Skills & experience Commercial experience of utilising a variety of Business Analysis structured methods Proven capability in Lean/six sigma Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Excellent stakeholder management skills enabling business partnership Strong facilitation skills and running hot houses or similar Strong requirements gathering skills e.g. workshops, interviewing or questionnaire Experience in agile and/or the use of requirement gathering tools, automated testing tools (beneficial not essential) Experience of working in Agile delivery methods Business Analysis experience within the London Market insurance (Syndicate and/or Company) and reinsurance sectors (Beneficial not essential) BCS Business Analysis Diploma or IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
