Java Developer

This position is unique as you will be working under an experienced Lead Java Developer shadowing the work being done, at the same time being trained and developed in a commercial hands on setting with the latest technologies and best practices (Agile) This is a great opportunity to rapidly progress your career. Now the perspective candidate will have some of the following although be advised the client will consider a range of experience levels. Experience in a commercial environment with the following technologies: - Java 8 or higher - SQL, ideally MySQL - Spring and Hibernate/JPA - HTML5/XML/CSS/Javascript - JUnit, Mockito - Familiar with agile software development concepts: sprints, automated testing - Experience working on large and small software projects Preferable Skills: - Taking ownership of new/existing modules of a large system and developing/maintaining them - Inter-process communication using REST, SOAP - Source control - Git, SVN - Creation of small-medium applications in response to company needs - Experience as a developer on an internal company development team - Familiarity with Apache Tomcat, JIRA, Jenkins/Hudson Nice to haves: - Experience creating applications written in .NET and/or PHP - Experience with Apache Wicket/Apache Velocity - Specialisation as a tester in a TDD/BDD environment - Familiarity with JProfiler or similar - SQL database performance tuning, transaction management This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89850277
