Role: Residential Worker Location: High Wycombe Job type: Permanent Part time Hours: 20 hours per week (including every other weekend ) Salary: £22,500 pro rata Are you a naturally empathetic and self - motivated individual who is passionate about changing the lives of children, young people and their families throughout the UK for the better? That's where you come in The Vines is a short break residential service for children and young people aged between 11 and 19 with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. We strive and work towards providing top tiered person - centred care. We also hold various activities on a day to day basis to encourage social experiences and promote equality and diversity throughout the service. In addition to using our own facilities and grounds we support children and young people to access activities within local community settings. As an Residential Worker, it will be your responsibility to liaise with the children, young people and their families to ensure that their care is always to the best possible standard. You will also be supporting them with all aspects of their care. How will you make a difference? By supporting children and young people in their personal care, administration of medication and procedures in line with the services policies and procedures. By providing a safe and fun environment to achieve positive outcomes. By encouraging communication and participation across the service. By promoting independence. By attending appointments and meetings. By building excellent rapports with Service Users, their families and other care professionals. By updating care plans and risk assessments. What will you need? Experience of working with children or young people (experience working with children with disabilities would be an advantage) Level 3 QCF Working with Children and Young People or equivalent is desirable, or the willingness to work towards this Working of own initiative A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people The ability to work effectively as part of a team A flexible approach to working hours (service open seven days a week) A good standard of written English and the ability to make accurate notes for record-keeping purposes What are the benefits?
